EcoNet-BH Baseboard Heater Thermostat Installation Guide

Step-by-step instructions, wiring diagrams, and resources for safe installation of your smart line voltage thermostat.

Compatibility and Requirements

Cadet F line-voltage baseboard

Compatible Heating Systems

The EcoNet-BH smart thermostat is designed for line voltage heating systems, including:

Electrical Requirements

Power Supply: 95–240 VAC, 50/60Hz
Load Capacity: 16A resistive load (≈3840W @ 240V)
Wiring: Requires HOT + NEUTRAL wire (4-wire connection)
Switching: Double-pole for safe full-circuit control

Not Compatible With

Unlike mechanical thermostats, EcoNet-BH requires both line and neutral for smart display, WiFi, and programming.

2-wire single-pole thermostats (lack neutral wire)
24V HVAC systems
Built-in dial control heaters
Millivolt gas systems

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does EcoNet-BH need a neutral wire?

It powers display, WiFi, and smart features continuously.

Can it replace a 2-wire single-pole thermostat?

No. Requires HOT + NEUTRAL. Run new cable or upgrade wiring.

What about built-in dial heaters?

Not compatible. Must use heaters designed for external thermostat control.

Maximum load?

16A → 1920W @120V, 3840W @240V. Larger loads need a contactor.
